Den 19 juni 1976 ingick kungen av Sverige äktenskap med Silvia Renate Sommerlath. Vigseln ägde rum i Stockholms Storkyrka. The 19th of june 1976 the king of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf married Silvia Renate Sommerlath. The wedding ceremony was held in The cathedral of Stockholm.

Över 200 00 människor hade samlats längs kortegevägen och framför lejonbacken för att hylla kungen och Silvia, den nya drottningen. More than 200 000 people were gathered along the streets and and near the Royal castle in Stockholm. They all wanted to celebrate the the king and his queen Silvia.
